The Lead Security Officer is responsible for managing security personnel and overseeing daily operational security tasks. Acting as a central point of contact, the Lead Security Officer coordinates service delivery, incident reporting, and performance monitoring to ensure consistently high standards of safety and service. In this position, the Lead Security Officer upholds Securitas values—Integrity, Vigilance, and Helpfulness—while maintaining strong and effective client relationships.

Responsibilities

You’ll play a vital part in keeping people, property, and information safe. 

In this role, you will ensure security staff are fully trained, licensed, and compliant, while overseeing accurate reporting, incident management, and investigations. You will monitor staff performance and wellbeing, provide motivational supervision and supporting recruitment, onboarding, recognition, and performance management. The role also involves maintaining compliance with company and client policies, assisting the Contract Management Team with improvements, and managing security equipment such as keys, radios, and control systems. You will carry out regular site checks, inspections, and patrols, maintain strong communication with management, clients, and the security team, and promote a safe, secure working environment aligned with company values.

This role requires strong leadership, effective self‑management and decision making, and clear communication with stakeholders. You must demonstrate solid business and commercial awareness, a commitment to operational excellence, and strong customer and sales awareness to support client relationships. Success in this role also relies on effective relationship building and consistently taking ownership, delivering results, acting respectfully, empowering others, leading by example, and driving innovation.

What we’re looking for:

We’re looking for someone who sees a different world—someone who values teamwork, shows initiative, and wants to grow.

• Over 3–5 years’ professional security experience
• Valid SIA Licence
• Strong communication skills and professional conduct, IT competence (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Relevant security experience with leadership skills, Customer Service training.
• Ability to handle confidential matters and adapt to changing priorities.
• Right to work in the UK, ability to provide a full 5‑year employment/education history.
• Health & Safety knowledge, First Aid certification.
• Highly computer literate, including the use of access control and security software
• Customer service–driven with excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills
