Job Description for the positions: Analyst – Japanese and Mandarin

Opportunity

We are recruiting of Analyst roles in our expanding office in Beijing China. We invite applications from qualifying candidates to be part of the growing team in this region. The Analysts will play a key role in supporting customers of LSEG across different countries in making informed investment decisions. The Analysts will be part of a dynamic team working with colleagues across multiple locations and experience a truly multi-national culture.

Required Day to Day Responsibilities

· Conduct media and Internet searches on companies and individuals in English, Japanese and Chinese

· To investigate official sources (registrars, regulators, courts, etc.) for information on companies and individuals

· To conduct educational/employment verification on individuals with third parties in Japanese/Chinese through email or phone communication (occasionally)

· To analyse the collected information with a view to reputational, financial and integrity risk (sanctions, corruption, bribery, money laundering, terrorism financing, regulatory violations, etc.)

· To prepare comprehensive reports in English and/or in foreign languages, which are:

o in a standardized format - in accordance with our internal Research Methodology and Style Guide

o meeting client specific requirements

o delivered on time

· Liaise with third-party local partners (verification of provided information, placing them in a report)

· Work effectively within teams or by yourself, be proactive to identify and resolve problems

· Document policies, procedures and work processes

· Adhere to current data policies and procedures

· Backup other analysts in the team during their absence

Required Skills (Must Have)

· Good written English. Native or full professional proficiency in Japanese and Mandarin as role requires extensive reading in this language and may deal with Japanese and Mandarin speaking clients.

· Strong research skills, including online search tools

· Microsoft Office Skills – Outlook, Word, Excel

Education

· Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree (preferably in Japanese, international relations, political science, legal studies or business management)

Certificate (Better to have)

· Japanese Language Proficiency Test Level (JLPT) N1
