Lead Product Designer (all genders)

Your creative field:
We are looking for a full-time, permanent Lead Product Designer (all genders) to join us as soon as possible. We are a remote-first company within Germany, but you can choose to work hybrid or fully on-site if you live near one of our locations.

As our Lead Product Designer, you are responsible for creating a consistent, intuitive, and thoughtfully crafted user experience across all our products. You will develop our UX/UI framework, define design principles, interaction patterns, and the design system that will form the foundation of our customer interface, APIs, self-service flows, documentation, and onboarding journeys.

Your mission is to reduce complexity and turn technical offerings into clear, understandable user experiences. You analyze existing journeys, identify friction points, articulate precise UX principles, and create reusable concepts that our development teams implement. In doing so, you establish standards that help us work faster, more efficiently, and — most importantly — more consistently.

You are a core part of our long-term product strategy and collaborate closely with Product Management, Development, Marketing, and other stakeholders. You ensure that decisions are grounded in strong UX fundamentals and deliver real value to our customers. Your work directly influences key metrics (NPS / Product-NPS, NRR), reduces support volume, and significantly improves the developer experience of our offerings.

This role is a crucial pillar of our transformation from a traditional hosting provider into a cloud company where product quality and user experience take center stage. You will define how Contabo is perceived — today, over the next 12 months, and in the long-term future. Your design ecosystem will shape the way we build products for years to come.

• Several years of experience as a UX or product designer in complex digital products
• Proven experience in setting up or introducing design systems/component libraries
• Strong conceptual thinking skills and the ability to simplify complex relationships
• Confident use of common UX tools (Figma, prototyping, user flows, design tokens, etc.)
• The ability to question requirements, define principles, and justify decisions clearly
• A high degree of personal responsibility, a structured approach to work, and an ownership mentality
• Very good English skills
