Mission of the Role

To build and strengthen Skylum’s global identity as a multi-product ecosystem for creators.

This role is responsible for helping transform market perception of the company from “the maker of Luminar” into a leader in innovative solutions for visual content creation. The mission includes ensuring strong synergy across existing products (Desktop, Mobile, Web) while laying a solid foundation for the seamless launch of future products under the Skylum brand.

Core Competencies:

2+ years of experience in a Brand Marketing Lead or Head of Brand Marketing role

Systems & architectural thinking — the ability to design scalable, long-term communication systems that go beyond individual features or updates and consistently articulate the value of the entire product ecosystem over time.

Narrative architecture — the ability to create clear, simple, and compelling narratives, and adapt the same core message for internal teams as well as for external audiences: hobbyists, professional photographers, lifestyle creators, and educator-influencers.

Brand evangelism — confidence and credibility in public speaking, representing the company at conferences, in media interviews, and in conversations with global corporations. This role serves as a strong, intelligent, and inspiring voice of Skylum.

Data-driven mindset — hands-on experience with Brand Lift Surveys, Sentiment Analysis, Share of Voice (SoV), potential reach/readership, earned media value, and similar metrics, along with a strong understanding of the tools, methodologies, and best practices behind them.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills — native-level or near-native English, with the ability to craft persuasive narratives, pitches, and communications, and to adapt tone and messaging across audiences, markets, media formats, and cultural contexts.

AI literacy — advanced proficiency with two or more AI tools applied to marketing, research, productivity, or creative workflows.

Creativity — the ability and desire to think beyond conventions, generate strong story angles, and create moments that inspire, surprise, and resonate.

Interest in art and visual culture — a refined sense of aesthetics, taste, and appreciation for design and creativity.

Proactivity and high energy — enthusiasm, initiative, and the ability to propose and drive brand activations and visibility opportunities without waiting for direction.

Ownership and accountability — full responsibility for outcomes, including brand performance, reputation, and public perception of the company.

Genuine passion for technology and innovation, combined with a deep understanding of the product and its value for users.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the Brand Team

Create a clear architecture of brand pillars, key messages, and value propositions

Define and develop the Skylum brand voice

Speak (or provide) a confident public spokesperson for the company at conferences, interviews, and industry events

Co-create and launch a community strategy for Luminar/Skylum alongside the CMO

Build long-term trust and engagement with creators and professional users

Create a transparent system to measure the impact of brand and communications on business

In-house metrics such as brand sentiment, share of voice, brand lift, reach and earned media value

Strengthening Skylum’s authority in the creative technology ecosystem

Willingness to travel when required
