Summary: We are seeking an experienced and motivated Landscape Maintenance Lead to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in landscape maintenance, horticulture, and team leadership. The Landscape Maintenance Lead will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating daily maintenance activities, ensuring the quality and efficiency of landscape services, and managing landscape maintenance workers. This position requires a hands-on approach, excellent communication skills, and a passion for creating and maintaining beautiful outdoor spaces.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Team Leadership:
Lead, supervise, and motivate a landscapting crew performing routine landscape maintenance.
Provide training and guidance to ensure team members adhere to safety standards and best practices.
Ensure team is representing company well (behavior on-site, wearing company provided gear, etc).
Coordinate daily tasks to optimize efficiency and productivity.
Advocate for landscape maintenance team with management.
Landscape Maintenance:
Perform a variety of landscape maintenance tasks, including but not limited to overseeing seasonal plant health needs, fertilization schedules, irrigation adjustments, mowing, edging, weeding, pruning, and planting.
Maintain soil health for a variety of plant species.
Monitor and maintain irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of plants and lawns.
Conduct regular inspections to identify and address pest and disease issues.
Complete maintenance visit checklists and maintain records.
Audit irrigation systems, make corrections, and maintain systems.
Requirements:
Must be a team player and be willing to assist other teams as needed.
Proven experience in landscape maintenance, with a minimum of two years in a leadership role.
Strong knowledge of horticulture, and plant care.
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
Ability to operate and oversee the use of various landscaping tools and equipment.
Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Knowledge of safety protocols and the ability to enforce them.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
