Job Description
TYTAN Technologies:
TYTAN is a young deep-tech defense startup on a mission to restore the economics of air defence through scalable, cost-effective, AI-powered systems. Our autonomous counter-drone solutions are designed to protect people and critical infrastructure. We are an international team of ambitious engineers combining expertise in autonomous systems and UAV design.
We are looking for a Lead Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering to take end-to-end ownership of production readiness, industrialization, and manufacturing performance.
This role ensures that our factory environment is:
• Ready for production according to plan (volume, timeline, capability)
• Continuously optimized for cost, quality, and scalability
• Influencing product design early to ensure DFX and manufacturability
You will act as the bridge between R&D, Supply Chain, Quality, and Production, ensuring seamless transition from product development to high-rate manufacturing.
Your roadmap to make an impact:
Production and Readiness & Industrialization
• Ensure manufacturing environment readiness aligned with production ramp plans.
• Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes for electronics and electromechanical assemblies.
• Define production workflows, line layouts, and capacity models.
• Manage factory modifications and infrastructure adjustments for new equipment and production scaling.
• Lead pilot builds, pre-series runs, and industrial validation phases along with establishing serial production ready processes.
Cost & Quality Optimization
• Drive continuous improvement of productivity, yield, and cost structure.
• Conduct time and motion studies; define labor standards and takt times.
• Implement Lean principles and waste reduction initiatives.
• Develop and maintain quality control processes and control plans.
• Identify bottlenecks and lead root cause analysis for production and testing issues.
• Improve OEE, process stability, and operator performance.
Early Design Involvement & DFX
• Collaborate closely with R&D from early design stages to drive DFX (Design for Manufacturing, Assembly, Test, Cost, Service).
• Review product designs for scalability, manufacturability, yield, and cost implications.
• Influence design decisions based on industrialization constraints and high-rate production requirements.
• Ensure smooth NPI transition into serial production.
Technology & Automation
• Evaluate and integrate new manufacturing technologies and automation solutions.
• Define tooling, fixtures, and test equipment requirements.
• Lead automation initiatives to improve throughput and reduce manual dependency.
Cross-Functional & International Collaboration
• Act as the manufacturing interface to R&D, Quality, Supply Chain, Product Management and Production.
• Support supplier industrialization and production transfer when required.
• Train technicians and production partners (including external partner factory in Ukraine) on assembly processes and standards
Who you are:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in industrial or manufacturing engineering, ideally in electronics or high-rate production.
• Proven experience in production ramp-up and industrialization.
• Strong understanding of DFX and NPI processes.
• Experience with process design, layout planning, and line balancing.
• Lean manufacturing knowledge (Kaizen, 5S, value stream mapping, etc.).
• Strong analytical skills and data-driven decision-making approach.
• Experience with CAD tools and manufacturing documentation systems.
• Hands-on mindset with the ability to work on the shop floor.
• Fluent in English; German is a plus.
What This Role Owns Strategically
• Manufacturing readiness
• Industrial scalability
• Cost structure optimization
• Yield & quality stability
• Process robustness
• Automation roadmap
Why TYTAN?:
• Be the first to welcome the world into a deep-tech defense startup that is shaping the future of security.
• Work in a fast-paced, international team where your contributions truly matter and your impact is immediate.
• Participate in our success with stock options.
• Be part of something bigger in a mission driven company.
• Enjoy flexible working hours.
• Access to EGYM Wellpass sports facilities.
• All day coffee and snacks, team events, and a modern office in Munich.
