Lead Housing Support Worker
Chilliwack, BC | $28.58/hr | Part Time
Ruth and Naomi’s Mission (RAN) has been serving Chilliwack for over 20 years, growing from a small outreach handing out sandwiches to an organization that provides shelter, recovery programs, and daily meals to those in need. As a faith-based organization, we are committed to creating a supportive and hope-filled community where lives can be transformed.
We are currently seeking a Lead Housing Support Worker (Lead HSW) to support our Interchange team—We are a supportive housing program for residents who need extra help to maintain housing and who are either abstinent from addiction or seeking abstinence. In this leadership role, you will work alongside and oversee Housing Support Workers, ensuring a safe, structured, and encouraging environment for residents. Key Responsibilities
Lead and support staff by assigning, monitoring, and guiding Housing Support Workers while ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
Foster a positive environment by building relationships with residents, upholding Interchange Guidelines, and cultivating a culture of respect and support.
Ensure safety and crisis management by proactively de-escalating conflicts, responding to emergencies, and conducting routine site patrols.
Maintain clear communication with team members and leadership, completing documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
Uphold the Christian values of RAN Mission, fostering a culture of grace, respect, and hope.
What You Bring
Grade 12 education or equivalent (required).
Post-secondary certificate in social services or relevant work experience (preferred).
Experience working with individuals facing addiction, homelessness, or mental health challenges.
Strong leadership, conflict de-escalation, and problem-solving skills.
Occupational First Aid Level 1 (can be obtained post-hire).
Criminal Record Check (required).
