Job Description
Worldscape is a cutting-edge platform designed to unify distributed data, sensors, and intelligent agents across cloud, on-prem, and edge environments. By combining geospatial intelligence, physics-based 3D simulation, and reward-driven AI, Worldscape enables organizations to build immersive digital twins for predictive modeling, scenario planning, and adaptive decision-making. With a zero-trust security framework, seamless integration with legacy systems, and robust developer tools, Worldscape empowers rapid deployment of agentic applications that drive resilience and efficiency in sectors like logistics, telecom, defense, and infrastructure.
Worldscape is seeking a Lead Graphics Engineer to help design, implement, and optimize real-time rendering systems that bring immersive visuals to life in our customer simulations. You’ll lead the development of advanced graphics features, collaborate closely with artists and designers, and mentor engineers to achieve high visual fidelity across our various end points.
In this role, you’ll own core rendering subsystems, lighting, materials, shaders and post-processing, bringing deep expertise in modern graphics APIs, GPU performance tuning and real-time optimization. Your work will balance cutting-edge innovation with production stability to ensure performance, scalability, and visual excellence.
This is an onsite role that will be located in Redmond, WA.
Responsibilities:
Help guide and implement a cloud-based rendering solution that can stream the output of our renderer to edge clients.
Design, implement, and optimize real-time rendering pipelines (e.g., forward, deferred, ray tracing).
Develop and maintain shaders using HLSL, GLSL, ShaderLab, or Shader Graph.
Responsible for graphics API Integration work with low-level APIs like DirectX 11/12, Vulkan, Metal, or OpenGL ES.
Profile GPU/CPU usage, optimize memory and rendering performance across platforms as we scale.
Build and maintain tools for asset import/export, shader debugging, and visual profiling.
Guide junior and mid-level engineers, conduct code reviews, and enforce best practices across studio teams.
Take responsibility for major subsystems (e.g., lighting, post-processing, material systems).
Work closely with artists, designers, and other engineers to align visual goals with technical feasibility.
Help technical artists create efficient content workflows and troubleshoot visual issues.
Translate deep technical topics into actionable insights for studio and platform teams and leadership.
Professional Qualifications:
At least 10+ years of relevant industry experience with the following:
Programming skills and knowledge of C++ or graphics programming language.
Experience developing core 3D systems for real-time interactive apps such as ECS, animation, gameplay, input, networking, or rendering.
Proficient in mathematics for 3D realtime applications (linear algebra).
Understanding of CPU/GPU hardware architecture and how that affects solutions.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Experience in writing tools and/or scripting for DCCs (Maya, Houdini, Blender).
BS in Computer Science, Computer Graphics, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
MS in Computer Science, Computer Graphics, or a related field, or PHD.
Familiar with 3D graphics API (Metal, OpenGL, DirectX, CUDA, CG, or Vulkan).
Experience building and maintaining game engines.
Experience working with artists and designers.
Proven track record of innovation in 3D development or related fields.
