About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Game Designer to join our dynamic team. As a Lead Game Designer, you will be responsible for guiding and mentoring a team of Game Designers, developing game design documents, and ensuring the quality and balance of our games. You will work closely with the Production Lead and developers to create engaging and innovative gaming experiences. This role requires a strong understanding of game design principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead and inspire a team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successful game development and a passion for creating exceptional games.

Key Responsibilities

• Assign tasks and provide development guidance to Game Designers.
• Develop plans to guide and enhance the capabilities of Game Designers.
• Communicate with the Production Lead to develop plans for new game development.
• Define design documents for Game Designers or directly design for products.
• Monitor or directly participate in product development to ensure products progress according to desired timelines.
• Communicate effectively with developers to provide data design direction for games.
• Double-check the metrics adjusted by Game Designers, or directly balance the metrics of the products involved.
• Oversee the creation and maintenance of comprehensive game design documentation.
• Collaborate with artists and programmers to ensure the seamless integration of design elements.
• Conduct playtesting and gather feedback to iterate on game design.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in game design.
• Mentor junior designers and provide constructive feedback on their work.
• Contribute to the overall creative vision of the game.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Game Design, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in game design, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Strong understanding of game design principles, including gameplay mechanics, level design, and user interface.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Proficiency in game design software and tools (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine).
• Experience with data-driven game design and analytics.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Passion for games and a deep understanding of the gaming industry.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies.
• Portfolio demonstrating successful game design projects.
• Fluency in Vietnamese and English is a plus.
