Lead Front End Engineer

We are a uniquely designed talent agency focusing on the technology sector in the Boston, MA area. Our solution is built for engineers tired of the traditional recruiting experience looking for an Agent to represent them in their current search and/or throughout their career.

We are working with an early stage travel startup a short walk from South Station to hire a Lead Front End Engineer. Founded by travel industry veterans (KAYAK) they are creating a brand new platform to simplify and improve the travel booking experience.  

If you’ve traveled recently you must have noticed that regardless of the site you visit you find yourself entering the same information over and over again? This is the tedious experience most modern booking sites provide and they are going to fix it.

The Lead Front End Engineer should be an expert in vanilla JavaScript having touched all of the major MVC frameworks and can make a case for which is the best tool for what they are trying to accomplish. This is literally a greenhorn project with a focus on building for scale. So they are looking to do this right the first time through.

Although this role is architecture and coding heavy there will be some elements of design involved so we are looking for someone who is opinionated about visual design but definitely isn’t a designer. You should be comfortable with HTML and CSS but this is way beyond pixel pushing.

For Engineers interested who have no desire to commute into and out of Boston daily, we do also have an office in Westford and you will be able to work from that space 2-3 days/week.

Experience needed:

• 5+ years of JavaScript Development with 2+ years developing SPA’s using modular MVC frameworks (React.js, AngularJS, Backbone.js, Ember.js)

• Knowledge of cutting edge open source tools and the ability to communicate their usefulness in solving specific problems on the Front End

• An eye for aesthetics
