Role Purpose
We are hiring a Lead Data Engineer. This role is to to help evolve Manna’s data infrastructure. This role combines hands-on data engineering with ownership of our core data platform across Postgres and Snowflake. You will be responsible for building scalable data pipelines, managing database performance, and enabling analytics and AI-driven use cases across the business. You’ll work closely with engineering, analytics, and leadership to shape data architecture, improve data quality, and support growing data needs.
Key Responsibilities
• Own and operate production, development, and reporting Postgres databases
• Manage and evolve the data platform architecture across Postgres and Snowflake
• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines from raw files and source systems
• Develop and optimise data models for analytics and reporting use cases
• Manage Snowflake performance and cost efficiency
• Monitor and improve Postgres performance (query tuning, indexing, scaling)
• Ensure data platform security, access control, and governance
• Define and maintain data engineering standards, best practices, and documentation
• Introduce monitoring, alerting, and observability across data systems
• Work with teams to understand and deliver on their data requirements
• Support AI and advanced data use cases by preparing and managing high-quality datasets
• Act as a key technical owner for data platform decisions and direction
Requirements:
• 5+ years’ experience in data engineering or a similar role
• Strong SQL skills and experience with Postgres or similar relational databases
• Experience working with Snowflake or other cloud data warehouses
• Proven experience building and maintaining data pipelines and data models
• Experience optimising database performance and query efficiency
• Strong understanding of data governance, security, and best practices
• Experience working cross-functionally with engineering and analytics teams
• Ability to take ownership of systems and drive technical decisions
Nice to Have
• Experience supporting AI/ML data workflows
• Experience with real-time or streaming data pipelines
• Familiarity with modern data tooling and infrastructure
