We are seeking a highly organized and efficient Lead Custodian to join our team in Victoria, Canada. The successful candidate will oversee custodial operations, ensuring a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment for our facility.
• Supervise and coordinate a team of custodians, assigning tasks and schedules
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are met
• Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, placing orders as needed
• Train new custodial staff on proper cleaning techniques and safety procedures
• Respond promptly to cleaning emergencies and special requests
• Implement and maintain cleaning schedules for all areas of the facility
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
• Collaborate with other departments to address maintenance issues
• Prepare and submit reports on custodial operations and team performance
• Identify and recommend improvements to cleaning processes and procedures
• 3-5 years of custodial experience, with 1-2 years in a supervisory role
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proficiency in using various cleaning equipment and supplies
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Excellent time management and organizational abilities
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
• Problem-solving aptitude and attention to detail
• Basic computer skills for report writing and inventory management
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, safety procedures, and OSHA regulations
• Familiarity with building maintenance practices
• OSHA safety certification preferred
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
