The Lead Class A Driver oversees the staff of drivers employed by the company. As a lead driver, you will train new staff, schedule the current driving team, and prepare reports on the staff for upper management. You are also responsible for Fleet truck swaps, cleanliness, camera systems, driving and delivering.
All Candidates for this opportunity will need to have an open and flexible schedule as they will be our fill in driver. This is a Full Time Position covering PTO and Vacations. You will have two consecutive days off.
The CDL Truck Driver loads linen carts on trucks and trailers and delivers the product to our customers in a timely manner. Most importantly and without exception, the CDL Truck Driver operates within the legal speed limits and in a safe fashion at all times.
The Ideal Candidate Has:
A valid driver's license and a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A.
Minimum of 2 years of recent experience driving a tractor trailer.
Open availability to cover all routes.
Meets all DOT requirements.
Is physically able to perform the duties of this position.
Candidates must be able to drive nights, holidays, and weekends.
Strong communication and customer service skills required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide daily supervision of assigned drivers and monitors to ensure proper and consistent performance of duties.
Assist with in-service programs to assure State licensing; conduct safe driving and safe working methods and procedures training programs as specifically required.
Train and assist drivers and monitors concerning student behavior management issues and work-related situations.
Train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel.
Prepare and maintain a variety of driver records.
Cover routes as needed and change any schedules to cover routes.
Motivate and lead by example, retrain as needed.
Loads linen carts onto trucks/trailers and delivers the product to customers in a timely manner.
They must ensure timely delivery of clean linen, maintain a clean and organized storage area, and ensure the customer has enough linen for daily needs.
Most importantly and without exception, our drivers operate within the legal speed limits and in a safe fashion at all times.
Assist transportation Manager as required.
