Lead Certified Veterinary Technician
Salary: $28 - $32.00 per hour, determined by the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications.
Schedule: This is a full-time position averaging 40 hours per week. The hospital hours are Monday–Wednesday from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Thursday and Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Team members enjoy a set, consistent schedule with one designated day off each week and only one Saturday shift per month.
Tranquility Veterinary Clinic is hiring a full-time Lead Certified Veterinary Technician to provide skilled care to our patients and exceptional service to our clients. Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily surgery and dental workflow to ensure efficient operations, strong team coordination, and high standards of patient care
• Develop and maintain training materials and clinical protocols while evaluating staff competency across all technical areas
• Manage equipment troubleshooting, laboratory operations, scheduling, and compliance with medical, safety, and inventory processes in collaboration with leadership
• Serve as a liaison between team members and management, supporting communication, staff development, and adherence to hospital protocols
• Support veterinarians with patient care, exams, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery.
• Safely handle and restrain animals with compassion.
• Communicate clearly with clients, including care instructions and status updates
• Perform technical duties such as lab work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement.
• Maintain accurate medical records and assist with medication dispensing.
• Help keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean, stocked, and ready.
• Follow hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines at all times.
Qualifications:
• Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) certification in New Jersey is preferred.
• Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
• Knowledgeable about common disease states and able to alert veterinarians to changes in patient conditions.
• Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines.
