The Lead Behavioral Health Technician (Lead BHT) plays a critical role within the residential care treatment team, offering leadership and direct care to residents with behavioral health challenges. In addition to the core responsibilities of a Behavioral Health Technician, the Lead BHT oversees the daily operations of the residential program, supervises staff, and ensures the implementation of individual treatment plans while maintaining a safe and supportive environment.

- Provide direct service to residents, including individual and group life skills training, behavior management, and crisis intervention.
- Supervise and support Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs) and Behavioral Health Paraprofessionals (BHPPs), ensuring that they carry out their responsibilities effectively.
- Monitor and manage shift coverage, ensuring all shifts are adequately staffed and that staff performance meets agency standards.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, including doctors and nurses, to carry out and modify treatment plans for residents as needed.
- Assist with resident intake processes and ensure accurate data entry into the Electronic Medical Records System (EMRS).
- Ensure that all documentation, including shift reports, incident reports, and medication administration records, are completed accurately and on time.
- Oversee the maintenance and cleanliness of the facility, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for residents.
- Handle case management documentation and collaborate with collateral care providers to advocate for residents.
- Provide crisis assessment and intervention as required.
- Report on resident progress, changes in condition, and any incidents to the Programs Manager.
- Reorder medication as needed and ensure accurate construction of monthly Medication Administration Records (MARs).
Maintain a clean driving record and be available to escort and drive residents to appointments and activities as scheduled.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Hours of work are typically Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., but may require sporadic after-hours and weekend availability.
