We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Behavioral Health Technician (Lead BHT) to join our Residential Treatment Center team.
Position Summary
The Lead BHT plays a key leadership role in daily milieu operations, providing direct patient care while supporting, guiding, and mentoring BHT staff. This position serves as a critical liaison between patients, clinical staff, and leadership, ensuring consistency, safety, and adherence to treatment and facility standards.

Qualifications
Valid and clear Florida Driver’s License
Ability to pass a Level II Background Screening
Prior experience working with the mental health population (residential or inpatient setting required)
Previous lead or supervisory experience strongly preferred
Strong communication, leadership, and crisis management skills
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct care, supervision, and behavioral support to patients in accordance with individualized treatment plans
Lead and support BHT staff during assigned shifts, modeling professionalism and best practices
Ensure accurate documentation of patient behaviors, incidents, and interventions
Serve as the primary liaison between patients and the clinical/treatment team
Assist with shift coordination, task delegation, and maintaining adequate unit coverage
Implement crisis intervention and de-escalation strategies as needed
Promote a safe, structured, and therapeutic milieu at all times
Act as a role model by:
Using appropriate counseling and de-escalation techniques
Practicing active listening and respectful communication
Maintaining professional boundaries
Reinforcing positive behaviors and peer culture
Ensure compliance with facility policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
Collaborate closely with the Operations Manager to meet departmental and organizational goals
