We’re looking for a Lawyer in Investment Funds & ESG !

Investment funds are in constant development and have never been so much at the heart of the organisation and business activities of our clients. Furthermore the investment funds and asset management market is shifting towards a more sustainable outlook and ESG is quickly becoming a “do or die”. Existing and incoming ESG and sustainability related regulations reshuffle compliance and strategic efforts of our clients.

Your impact

As a Managing Associate Lawyer, you’ll be an integral part of our regulatory team. Your mission? To navigate the intricate legal and regulatory landscape while providing pragmatic and business-oriented solutions to clients. You will deal with all areas of investment funds regulation and handle the legal and regulatory aspects of various types of transactions. You will also advise clients on ESG and sustainability throughout their activities, from real estate or private equity transactions, incorporation of ESG objectives into policies and processes, stakeholders dialogue, sustainable financing, to corporate and director liability.

We work together with our multidisciplinary teams of lawyers (e.g. Business Law, Employment Law, Tax Law, Public Law) as well as with the PwC teams of consultants in Tax, M&A, etc). We work side by side, both in Belgium and across borders, to help clients make the changes they need to be transparent, accountable and sustainable. It’s better for business and better for society.

Who you are

● Belgian Master’s degree in law. Post-graduate diplomas (LL.M.) are an advantage.

● 4 to 7 years of professional experience in financial law with a law firm, financial institution or an international organisation. Experience in investment funds regulations and/or ESG and sustainability matters is an advantage.

● Ability to analyse complex problems and present them in a synthesised manner.

● Good presentation skills and fluent (report) writing skills; IT knowledge is a valuable asset.

● Project management skills.

● Ability to work within budgetary and time constraints while providing a high level of client satisfaction.

● A team-player attitude with good communication skills.

● Entrepreneurial, proactive, committed, flexible, accurate with an eye for detail and eager to learn

● Fluent in English and French or Dutch
