Laser Operator

The Laser Operator is responsible for the safe operation of the laser machine to provide quality products through reading and following the blueprint and programming the machine to the appropriate tolerances and following all work instructions that accompany the machine and/or the project.

Responsibilities:

Reading and understanding blueprint and mechanical drawings

Knowledge/use of appropriate tools to keep machines in operation conditions

Attention to detail; adherence to all standards of quality and safety

Inspect products to ensure quality standards and specifications are met

Addressing machine malfunctions in an efficient and expedited manner

Chart machine performance and administer routine checks/maintenance

Adjust machine controls to produce specified products

Ensure that projects are implemented/completed according to timelines

Plan the sequences of operation to achieve optimal precision and tolerances

Preparing raw materials for production; assembling final products for shipping

Confer with team lead to obtain accurate information about orders, processes, or problems

Required Skills/Abilities

Basic math skills

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Tooling and tool maintenance

Reading and interpreting blueprints

Education and Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent

Previous experience with laser operations is preferred

Previous manufacturing experience preferred

Technical certification or accreditation preferred

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.

Must be able to stand for long periods of time

Must have agility to bend, push, pull, finger and pick up materials used
