Position: Laser/CNC Operator

Position Overview: Joining a dynamic team of sheet metal fabricators, our CNC operators bring their specialized skills and experience to some of the most unique metal fabricating projects in the area. This is not a typical, “stand and push a button” CNC job. In our shop, you’ll play a hands-on, integral role in building commercial duct work and other metal fabrication projects.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Read and understand basic drawings
Follow manufacturer’s guidelines for operating all machinery
Follow the procedure to turn equipment on and off
Set up machinery for production
Load metal into machine from coil or sheet
Measure and verify all calculations prior to setting up the machinery
Enter all relevant codes to specify the speed and desired finishes
Make machine adjustments, change nozzles, lenses and make machine adjustments
Monitor equipment while operating
Maintain a clean and organized working environment
Complete routine maintenance of all machinery
Follow all safety protocols and procedures
Other duties as assigned by management
Skills & Requirements:
1-3 years of CNC machine operating experience
Must be able to operate a laser, press brake, sheer, and a Fabriduct coil machine for cutting/bending metal (training provided)
Must be mechanically inclined and be able to understand how a complex machine works and make adjustments when needed
In-depth knowledge of computer and information systems
Strong attention to detail
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
In-depth knowledge of metal machinery
Excellent reporting and analytical skills
Deep understanding of mechanics and mathematics
Ability to interpret 3D drawings and orthographic projection
Requires the ability to use a phone and tablet to input data, such a timecard information, emails, etc.
Job Location: 218 East Lathrop Avenue, Savannah, GA 31415
Working Environment: Work is typically performed while standing, in a limited-climate-controlled machine shop.
Salary: Starting at $22/hour, but depends on experience and skill level
