GCS Group is hiring a Landscape Labourer and Skid Steer Operator to support surface restoration and site cleanup work tied to our telecom and underground construction projects in and around Red Deer, Alberta. This is a hands-on outdoor role that combines general landscape labour with skid steer operation — ideal for someone who likes variety in their day and takes pride in leaving a job site looking better than they found it.
We keep our crews busy and we look after the people on them. If you're dependable, capable behind the controls, and carry a clean driving record, this could be a great fit.
What the Job Involves
Operating a skid steer to support grading, backfill, spoil removal, and surface restoration on active project sites
Performing general landscape labour including seeding, sodding, topsoil spreading, and site cleanup
Assisting with post-construction restoration to return work areas to their original condition
Safely loading, moving, and staging materials across job sites as directed
Completing daily equipment pre-checks and flagging any mechanical concerns to the foreman
Working alongside HDD and telecom construction crews to keep sites clean and organized throughout the project
Following all site safety requirements and ground disturbance procedures
What You Need to Qualify
Valid Alberta driver's license with fewer than 3 demerit points — this is a firm requirement and will be verified
Skid steer certification is required; must be current and confirmed before your start date
Prior experience in landscaping, site restoration, or general construction labor is a strong asset
Comfortable operating equipment in tight or uneven terrain
Physical fitness to handle labour-intensive outdoor work across varying weather conditions
Reliable, punctual, and able to take direction and work well within a team

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS
A valid Class 5 driver’s license & clean drivers abstract
CSTS 2020 certification required
Ground Disturbance Level 2 required
