Required Skills
Job Description
We are looking for a Landscape Designer to support residential outdoor projects while developing client-facing design and sales capabilities.
This role operates within a design-build landscape environment and focuses on supporting design production while learning how to present and contribute to sold work. The position is critical to increasing design output and supporting backlog creation for installation crews. This is not a back-office drafting role; it is an early-career opportunity for someone who wants to grow into a client-facing, revenue-generating designer over time.
Responsibilities
• Support the development of residential landscape design concepts and project layouts
• Assist in building 2D plans and 3D models for client presentations
• Participate in client meetings alongside senior designers and contribute to presentations
• Revise and update designs based on client feedback and project requirements
• Help manage multiple design projects simultaneously while maintaining deadlines
• Collaborate with installation teams to ensure designs align with field execution
• Learn the design-build sales process, including how projects are presented and sold
• Contribute to increasing overall design output to support backlog for crews
• Maintain organized project files, drawings, and documentation
Requirements:
• 0–3 years of experience in landscape design, landscape architecture, or related field
• Degree or formal training in landscape architecture, design, or similar discipline preferred
• Familiarity with landscape design software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar tools)
• Exposure to or interest in 3D modeling and client presentation work
• Strong communication skills and willingness to interact with clients
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, small-team environment with limited structure
• Interest in developing sales and client-facing skills over time
• Residential design-build exposure preferred (pure drafting or non-client-facing roles will not be sufficient)
Benefits:
Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience. Benefits may include health insurance, retirement plan options, paid time off, and other company-sponsored programs.
