Landscape Labourer
Ghent Landscape is currently seeking full-time labourers to join our landscape construction teams! Suitable team members are motivated individuals that enjoy working outdoors in both summer and winter conditions, on a daily basis and are comfortable in the operation of various landscape tools and equipment.
Salary: $20-$24/hr, dependent on experience
Benefits: Available after probationary period, RRSP matching available after 1 year
Responsibilities
General labour duties on a landscape construction job site including shovel, wheelbarrow, rake, sweep, cut and lay stone by hand, direct traffic, back vehicles, lay sod, plant trees and various plant materials, operate small compaction tools and equipment
Work in a team setting to build a range from small residential projects, to mid-large scale commercial landscape construction projects
Interact with clients and coworkers in a professional and courteous manner
Communicate with supervisor to ensure job satisfaction is achieved
Ensure compliance with company health and safety training and reporting requirements
Required to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
Valid G license is an asset, must have reliable transportation
Responsible to provide own CSA approved safety boots
Must be willing to work 40-55 hours per week and some weekends depending on work load
Other duties will be assigned as requires
Desired Skills and Experience
Prior experience in landscape construction is preferred
Experience with hand and power tools is an asset
Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs
Strong attention to detail
Must be safety conscious
Excellent team player
Must be enthusiastic and willing to learn new skills
Must be punctual and personable
Must obtain WHMIS and Occupational Health and Safety Awareness training
