Landscape Construction Foreman

Ghent Landscape is seeking a skilled and motivated Landscape Construction Foreman/woman to lead construction crews on high-quality landscaping projects in our residential and commercial divisions. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing daily site operations, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

Salary: $30 - $40/hour, depending on experience

Responsibilities & Duties:

Lead and supervise a residential/commercial construction crew of 2-5 team members

Interpret and execute work from landscape construction drawings, grades, and technical details

Communicate daily progress, challenges, and site updates with Residential/Commercial Construction Managers

Coordinate daily site needs, including materials, equipment, and labour, with internal teams

Ensure all work is completed on time, on budget, and in accordance with project specifications and quality standards

Maintain an organized and safe job site, ensuring housekeeping and safety protocols are consistently followed

Operate and maintain landscape construction equipment, including skid steers, mini-excavators, compactors, and power tools

Troubleshoot on-site challenges and adjust work plans as needed to maintain project momentum

Mentor and train junior crew members on proper techniques, safety procedures, and quality expectations

Complete and submit all require health and safety documentation, including JSA’s, site inspections, and incident reports

Accurately complete and submit digital timesheets for crew members to support payroll and job costing accuracy

Enforce company health and safety policies and ensure all work performed is in compliance with OHSA regulations

Represent the company in a professional manner when interacting with clients, inspectors, and the public

Report directly to job sites

Perform other duties as required.

Desired Skills & Experience

Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in landscape construction, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead hand role

Strong knowledge of landscape construction practices, including hardscaping, grading, planting, and site preparation

Proven ability to read and interpret construction drawings, grades and specifications

Experience operating and maintaining small landscape construction equipment

Ability to lead, motivate, and mentor a small crew in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills

Physically fit, and able to work outdoors in various weather conditions

Valid G driver’s license with a clean driving record (DZ or AZ an asset)
