Job Description
Ghent Landscape is currently looking for an Equipment Operator to join our landscape construction division. Suitable team members are motivated individuals that enjoy working outdoors on a daily basis and are comfortable in the operation of various landscape construction tools and equipment such as skid steers, mini excavators and loaders.
Full-time construction work available immediately.

Salary: $24-$28/hr, dependent on experience
Benefits: Available after probationary period, RRSP matching available after 1 year
Responsibilities
Responsible for excavating, grading and prep for retaining walls, interlock patios and various other hardscape or earthworks projects
Operate heavy equipment and tools as a part of a landscape construction crew to complete hardscape installations
General labour on job sites such as shovelling, raking, wheelbarrowing and using various compaction equipment
Interact with clients and coworkers in a professional and courteous manner
Communicate with supervisor to ensure job satisfaction is achieved
Follow planned landscaping designs to determine where to lay sod, plant flowers or spread mulch
May be required to drive company trucks/vehicles
Valid G license is an asset
Ensure compliance with company health and safety training and reporting requirements
Required to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
Other duties will be assigned as required
Desired Skills and Experience
2-3 years of prior experience operating heavy equipment such as skid steers, mini excavators and loaders
Prior experience as a part of a landscape construction crew is a strong asset
Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs
Ability to read and interpret utility locates
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work independently and follow instructions
Must be safety conscious
Excellent team player
Must be enthusiastic and willing to learn new skills
Must be punctual and personable
Must obtain WHMIS and Occupational Health and Safety Awareness training
