Learn how to become a Land Surveyor!
This position supports a Surveyor while performing boundary surveys and staking. We are looking for a motivated individual who likes to be out in "the field" and is dedicated, loyal, hard-working, and gets satisfaction out of a full day's work. You can become a surveyor from 6 months to 1 year, depending on your interest, motivation, abilities, and the company's needs.
No experience Necessary (6+ months experience as a Survey Assistant is preferred)
To give you an idea of what the day looks like:
Morning tasks:
Check with Crew Chief for daily scope of work - Load any and all needed equipment (GPS equipment, batteries, survey equipment, safety clothing & gear) - Top off and load needed survey supplies (lath, paint, flagging spikes, red/white flags, posts & any other necessities).
Throughout the day:
Be prepared to drive to and from the job site.
Set up and tear down GPS base, carry all the supplies in a lath bag, backpack or belt.
Make sure to have enough water and anything else you may need throughout the day (Always plan on being gone for most of the day).
End of the work day:
Unload any equipment not needed.
Put all batteries on chargers.
Check with Crew Chief before going home.
Weekly Tasks:
Monday’s time is due for the previous week worked; enter time
Friday should be the day to clean the equipment. (Unload and wipe down GPS, wash trucks, and clean office, bathrooms and shop areas.) Check with all Crew Chiefs to see if there is anything needing to be done.
Education: High School Diploma / GED
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Additional: Ability to bend, stoop, reach and lift 75 lbs. Honest, Professional, Organized, Pays Attention to detail, Dependability, Thoroughness, Documentation Skills, Inventory Control, Safety Conscious, Strong Work Ethic, Self-driven with little or no supervision. Must have current and valid drivers license with MVR that meets Company requirements. Must be willing and able to enroll in a drug & alcohol screening and criminal background program.
Working Conditions: Mental and physical labors are a part of this job. Working conditions is mostly outdoor and the job is subject to extreme weather conditions. Must be able to walk for long periods of time and/or operate ATV’s through a variety of terrains.
Driver's License and clean driving record required

Schedule:
8 hour shift (some overtime is typical). Must be willing to travel (expenses paid by company) for periods of one to two weeks at a time. Varied schedule.
