Assist engineers, painters and carpenters as required using shovels, weight equipment and jackhammer.  Load and unload trucks.  Operate forklift and transport heavy loads.  Maintain a clean shop area. 

Role and Responsibilities: (Includes but is not limited to the following)

• Operate jackhammer in all climatic weather and indoors to remove concrete and asphalt to access ground or pipes underneath, for extended and short periods of time.
• Sweep floors under ideal and adverse conditions with arms extended and contracted for extended periods of time in awkward positions to clean floors of debris.
• Set dollies under heavy equipment and jack up in air to move to another area (used in close areas in adverse and ideal conditions with arms extended, contracted and leg muscles utilized often).
• Load heavy loads and transport throughout hotel and deliver to necessary personnel or offices with arms extended and contracted and lifting for short and extended periods of time in adverse and ideal conditions on level and uneven surfaces.
• Push/pull flatbed cart loaded with material, supplies, and trash. In ideal and adverse weather conditions on level and uneven surfaces with arms extended and contracted for long periods and short periods of time.
• Operate forklift to lift heavy loads, unload truck on uneven surfaces. 
• Man for extended and short periods of time.  

Performance Requirements: (Knowledge, skills and abilities)

• Ability to effectively deal with internal customers, some of whom will require patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger, collect accurate information and solve customer concerns.
• Ability to act independently.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language in order to complete inventories/invoices and communicate with superiors and other employees.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language to follow written and/or verbal instructions.
• Basic mathematical skills necessary to weigh equipment/supplies.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and awkward positions, requiring crouching, kneeling, stooping and reaching overhead for extended periods of time.
• Sufficient manual dexterity of hand in order to use a shovel, broom and weight equipment.
• This position requires considerable physical activity on a continuous basis throughout the shift.
• Ability to operate jackhammer, fork lift, two wheeler and flat bed.
• Ability to grasp, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, lift and/or carry, supplies/equipment weighing a maximum of 100 lbs. on a continuous basis.
• Ability to move and work throughout the Hotel for the duration of the shift.
• Ability to remain alert throughout the duration of shift.
• Ability to climb ladders and stairs to access work areas.
• Ability to work in unfavorable conditions which can occasionally be hot, cold, noisy and wet.
• Ability to perform duties in a confined space.
• Ability to push/pull supplies/equipment on a hand truck weighing a maximum of 800 lbs. on a continuous basis.
• Ability to stand and jack hammer for extended periods of time.
• Keep spoilage/waste to a minimum by ordering and utilizing proper quantities and rotating products/inventory.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language in case of emergency situations and to read caution and/or safety notices.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language to comprehend product labeling instructions to enable safe application of products and processes.
• Maintain inventory of supplies needed to perform job function.
• Ability to maintain attendance in conformance with standards.
• Ability to maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance.
