Job Title: Laboratory Technician
Hours: 37.5   Monday  - Friday - 9:00 am till 5:00 pm 
Job Location: Trafford Park
We are seeking a proactive and detail‑focused Laboratory Technician to join our Hardlines Department in Trafford Park.  You will play a key role in the routine testing, preparation, and administration of consumer product samples. You will support both the toy, nursery, and chemistry departments, ensuring all testing is completed to high quality standards, equipment is correctly calibrated, and workflows run efficiently to meet customer deadlines. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands‑on laboratory environment, can work independently, and is committed to maintaining excellent quality and safety standards.
• Conduct routine laboratory testing of consumer products, ensuring accurate results and timely turnaround for customers.
• Calibrate, maintain, and record laboratory equipment to support repeatable and reliable testing processes.
• Prepare samples for analysis within the Chemistry Department and assist with sample booking‑in and general administration.
• Maintain laboratory areas to UKAS and Health & Safety standards, ensuring a clean, safe, and compliant workspace.
• Support ongoing quality management by following SGS procedures, contributing to method development, and assisting cross‑department teams when needed.
Essential
• GCSE or equivalent in Maths, Science and English or other relevant experience.
