Number of positions: 1

Location of position:   Converter Plant, DML

Safety: Consistent application of Safety & Health principles in all discipline interactions and take personal responsibility for safety of self and others to ensure zero harm and elimination of fatalities. Safe operation of the Laboratory and Pilot Plant to deliver on project targets.

Performance and Delivery

• Conform to work standards
• Material usage: storage and stock control standards
• Quality work performed
• Time of work completion
• Accuracy of work
• Operation of units in the metallurgical laboratory, pilot plant and offsite pilot rigs
• Conducting plant surveys, bench floats and sampling
• Conducting metallurgical tests using specialized equipment
• Forklift, Manitou telescopic handler, Bobcat skid-steer loader and light vehicle driving.
• Working over shift cycles when required.
• Comply with Safety policies and procedures and ensure all safety equipment is working properly
• Maintain Housekeeping Standards
• Procedures followed
• Instructions followed

People & Teams

• Actively engage as a team member in all team processes.

Compliance

• Ensure compliance with internal and external regulatory, legislative and permitting requirements.

• Matric (Grade 12) with Maths and Science
• Code 08

Experience

• 6 months to complete applicable laboratory module

Knowledge and Skills

• Knowledge of operational processes within scope of role.
• English literate
• Risk management techniques and critical controls
