SGS New Zealand is a leading provider of testing, inspection, and certification services, with a global network of more than 2,600 offices and laboratories.
We are looking for a full time Laboratory Assistant to join our team in Waihi.  In this role you will be responsible for timely and accurate reporting of results at the Waihi Minerals Laboratory.
This role will require the flexibility to work 4 days on 4 days off, 5:30am to 5:30pm. 
Key Responsibilities:
• Responsible for timely and accurate reporting of results at the Waihi Minerals Laboratory.
• Efficiently and accurately prepare and analyse all main laboratory samples (geochem & environmental). 
• Day to day focus on the efficient running of the Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS) and ICP-MS instruments
•  Assist with maintaining the quality system in the laboratory
• Work with the Laboratory Manager and department heads/managers at the Waihi laboratory to ensure reporting deadlines are met eg. Daily OGL production samples, BT production samples and compliance environmental samples.  Issue and/or check reports as they become available.
• To ensure all activities are carried out with regard and recognition of Health and Safety requirements and personal safety
• Perform additional duties as required to support laboratory objectives
