Laboratory Assistant (Shepparton)

We are looking for a motivated Casual Laboratory Assistant to join our Shepparton environmental lab. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting field sampling activities, ensuring accurate sample receipt and testing, and helping deliver timely, high-quality results in line with SGS’s EHS service and quality standards.

What you will do:

• Conduct field sampling to meet client requirements.
• Perform analyses according to SGS methods and procedures.
• Support the Sample Reception & Chemistry team.
• Carry out QC checks, instrument calibrations, and take appropriate action.
• Record all data in a clear and accurate manner.
• Represent SGS on-site and during client visits.
• Provide sample pick-up and drop-off services for key clients.
• Prepare sample bottles and assist with sample receipt at the Shepparton site.
• Ensure analysis and data are completed by due dates, working collaboratively with the Shepparton team.
• Perform risk assessments and internal audits as required.

What will you bring:

• Previous laboratory experience (desirable).
• Knowledge of measurement and testing techniques related to environmental field sampling.
• Ability to understand technical issues and provide feedback.
• Basic report writing skills.
• Valid Victorian full driver’s license.
