Hiring Unit:
Department of Biology (Professor Jon Sakata)

Position Summary:

• Assists in performing laboratory tests and experiments.
• Assists in recording results, performing calculations and compiling data.
• Helps maintain records and files.
• Assists new lab members with basic lab routines.
• Contributes to equipment maintenance, minor repairs, and arranges for servicing.
• Participates in maintaining cleanliness and safety of the work area.
• Helps to ensure compliance with safety regulations in the use of equipment.
• Helps to ensure proper storage, handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
• Helps to maintain inventory, purchasing of equipment and materials.

Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities

• Attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Excel, Google sheets, or related.
• Available on weekends.
• Experience working with live animals.
• Training in wet lab procedures (e.g., histology, tissue sectioning)
• MUST BE WORK STUDY ELIGIBLE at MCGILL UNIVERSITY.

Education/Experience:

• Background in biology, psychology, or neuroscience.

Location:  This position is located in Montreal, Quebec and the work for this position is expected to be performed in Quebec.

Knowledge of French and English: McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing.  The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level # (4) qualifier on a scale of 0-4".

High School Diploma 1 Year Related Experience

Hourly Salary:

(AMUSE B) $16.85
