Department of Mining and Materials Engineering - Prof. Ferri Hassani's Lab
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Department of Mining and Materials Engineering at McGill University is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Lab Helper B (casual) to assist the Research Supervisor in performing laboratory tests and experiments on rocks. This position involves assisting with the preparation of rock samples for physical and mechanical testing. They will work alongside graduate students to conduct tests, collect data, and perform basic analysis.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist with the preparation of rock samples for physical and mechanical rock testing
• Assist in conducting tests with the graduate students on rocks, collecting data and conducting basic analysis.
• Assist in preparing research reports and presentations, updates manuals and datasheets as required
• Keep the laboratory work area clean and orderly, and ensure all equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.
Qualifications:
• High School Diploma
• Has a minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience working in a laboratory environment
• Excellent written and oral communication skills;
• Well-organised and self-motivated.
