Prepares laboratory specimens (blood, urine, stool and others) for designated departments/locations prior to laboratory analysis and testing. Unpacks specimens from branches or ports and routes specimens by type to various staging areas in a fast paced environment. Prepares all specimens received for testing in designated laboratory departments or locations such as staging of specimens, centrifuge, separate serum, and blood smears. Aliquots (pours) sample for departments.

Notes from HR Manager:
They are looking for candidates with Bachelor degree & minimal experience. She said that phlebotomists often do not work for Specimen Processing Specialist roles because they are unable to use their CPT license and they typically end up leaving this role for a phlebotomy job. They are looking for non-phlebotomy applicants.
