Role Summary
The Klaviyo Implementer executes the technical implementation of all email and SMS campaigns, automated flows, and audience segmentation in Klaviyo for Truly Free Home. They turn approved copy and strategy into accurate, fully QA’d, revenue-producing campaigns and flows.
This role is hands-on, detail-obsessed, and systems-driven. It is not a copywriting or strategy role; it is an execution and quality-control role inside Klaviyo that sits at the center of our lifecycle revenue engine.
Core Responsibilities
Email Campaign Setup & Implementation
Build email campaigns in Klaviyo using approved copy and assets.
Accurately transfer content from Google Docs to Klaviyo without formatting or spacing errors; ensure mobile-responsive layouts and clean visual presentation.
Configure all links, CTAs, UTM parameters, and footer links correctly; verify “Track links separately” is enabled for A/B tests where required.
Apply correct segments, exclusions, tags, and campaign naming conventions for Prospects, Customers, and Subscribers.
Implement Stop Promo logic and text that aligns with the promotional strategy (blind vs specific offer), and ensure correct behavior in all emails.
SMS Campaign Setup & Implementation
Build Day 1 SMS announcements for every promotional offer (standing, non‑negotiable requirement).
Mirror email segmentation, exclusions, and timing in SMS; ensure links, fallbacks, and MMS assets (when used) meet spec and are fully tested.
Configure SMS in coordination with email (launch, last‑chance sends, and cross-channel cadence).
Automated Flow Creation & Management
Build, update, and maintain automated flows (welcome, browse abandonment, post‑purchase, replenishment, win‑back, etc.).
Set up triggers, delays, filters, and exit criteria correctly, using event and profile data from Shopify and other integrated sources.
Ensure Browse Abandonment flows are cloned, updated, and tested for each offer and audience (Prospects, Customers, Subscribers).
Segmentation, List Management & Stop‑Promo Infrastructure
Maintain clean, accurate segments and suppression logic (Stop Promo, Purchased Product, Box Subscriber, list hygiene rules).
Ensure all campaigns use correct send‑to and don’t‑send‑to segments, especially for promotions, resends, and non‑opener campaigns.
Configure and maintain Stop Promo hosted pages, associated segments, and tracking URLs for each campaign.
Quality Assurance & Testing
Self‑QA every build before review:
Test sends for layout, content, personalization, and device responsiveness.
Click‑through testing of all links, CTAs, Browse Abandon and Stop Promo flows.
Verify segmentation and expected audience counts.
Confirm correct A/B test configuration (test size, duration, winner selection, link
tracking).
Treat self‑QA as non‑negotiable; work is not “done” until it is fully tested and error‑free.
Checklist, SOP & Workflow Compliance
Follow the Klaviyo Campaign SOP, checklists, and Loom‑documented processes step‑by‑step, every time (no skipped steps).
Respect and execute standing requirements even when not explicitly written into individual tasks (e.g., Day 1 SMS, Browse Abandonment, Stop Promo, Last‑Chance emails).
Operate within the defined workflow: Email Copywriter → PM → Klaviyo Implementer → PM (final QA) → Deployment.
Communication, Ownership & Critical Thinking
Proactively flag issues, inconsistencies, or missing pieces (copy, landers, segmentation, tracking) to the Project Manager and Executive Director instead of “pushing it through.”
Ask clarifying questions when requirements conflict or something doesn’t look right; do not rely on assumptions or partial info.
Demonstrate professional, solutions‑oriented communication and respect for hierarchy and feedback loops.
Required Qualifications
2–4+ years hands‑on Klaviyo implementation experience (campaigns + flows) for ecommerce or subscription/DTC brands or related experience with other ESPS like ActiveCampaign.
Proven track record building:
Multi‑step campaigns with segmentation, exclusions, A/B tests, and resends.
Lifecycle flows (welcome, post‑purchase, browse abandonment, win‑back, etc.).
Strong understanding of Klaviyo data, events, profile properties, and how they drive triggers, filters, and segmentation or willingness to learn.
High attention to detail and QA‑first mindset; ability to run your own checklists and catch issues before review.
Comfortable editing HTML email templates and troubleshooting basic rendering/layout issues.
Proficient with spreadsheets for audience audits, bulk imports, and reporting checks.
Clear, concise written communication for async collaboration across time zones.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with high‑volume Klaviyo accounts (50M+ sends/year, 500k+ profiles) and strong understanding of deliverability implications.
Familiarity with:
Browse abandonment and stop‑promo architectures.
Non‑opener resend logic and multi‑segment campaign cloning.
Subscription/continuity flows and post‑purchase retention programs.
Success Metrics (First 6–12 Months)
Error rate: Near‑zero formatting, link, segmentation, and configuration errors reaching final QA.
Standing requirement compliance: 100% coverage of Day 1 SMS, Stop Promo, Browse Abandonment, Last‑Chance campaigns for every promo.
Throughput: Campaigns and flows are built and ready on or before agreed deadlines, enabling the lifecycle calendar to ship on time.
QA quality: PM review becomes primarily confirmation, not rework; significant drop in preventable issues surfaced in QA.
Team capacity: Measurable increase in number of campaigns/flows the team can run without sacrificing quality.
Ideal Profile / Team Fit
We’re looking for someone who:
Genuinely enjoys implementation and systems work—you like clean builds, tight logic, and detailed checklists.
Is coachable and directable, responds well to feedback, and respects established hierarchy and workflows.
Thinks like a protector of the customer and the brand: you care that what goes out is clean, correct, and aligned.
Is comfortable working in a fast‑paced, high‑volume campaign environment where accuracy and speed both matter
