Position Summary:
Wasauksing First Nation is accepting applications for a Kitchen Coordinator. Under the supervision of the Social Wellbeing Manager of Social Services, a Kitchen Coordinator
oversees daily kitchen operations, ensuring compliance with food safety standards,
managing inventory, and maintaining meal quality. Key duties include scheduling
staff/volunteers, ordering supplies, maintaining sanitation standards, and often preparing or serving food. They require Food Handler certification, leadership skills, and the ability to lift heavy items.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Food safety & compliance
Ensure health regulations
Maintain temperature logs
Ensure compliance with provincial or local health departments.
Keeping an inventory & purchasing list
Create an inventory system
Order food and supplies
Manage budgets
Manage petty cash
Manage staff & volunteer supervision,
Schedule and train kitchen staff or volunteers
Ensuring proper food handling procedures
Complete meal service, and plan menus
Prepare, or assist with cooking nutritious meals while accommodating special ietary requirements and allergies
All other duties as assigned by the Manager of Social Wellbeing
Adhere to all policies and procedures of Wasauksing First Nation and any other relevant policies and procedures from external agencies and partners
Education & Experience:
Food Handler/Food Safety Training
1-3 years of experience in food service or commercial kitchen environments
Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 20 kg. (44 lbs)
Other Requirements:
Valid Driver's License and reliable personal vehicle
Willing to work flexible hours as required, including evenings and weekends
This position requires the individual to work with various families, youth and children. To protect children, youth and vulnerable persons, Wasauksing First Nation requires the individual to provide a vulnerable sector. Or criminal record check
