KIDS MINISTRY ROLE DESCRIPTION
The Kids Ministry resident is responsible for assisting the Kids Pastor and Associate Kids Pastor with the development and execution of educational programs for children in grades K-6. He/she also assists with planning special programs (e.g., vacation bible school, kids camp).

RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborate with Kids Staff and Volunteer Teams to Plan, Coordinate, and Execute Special
Events (e.g., Vacation Bible School, Kids Camp, Promotion Sunday, Special Events, etc.)
• Collaborate with the ministry team to understand the goal and requirements of the event.
• Develop a plan for all responsibilities the Children’s Pastor assigns for the event.
• Recruit and train volunteers for specific events, as needed.
• Assist with logistical coordination, preparation, and execution of special events.
Ensure Accurate, Timely Response to Communication Requests (Phone or Email)
• Manage email and communication requests in a timely, thorough manner not to exceed 1 week
• Build trust by maintaining confidence of information
• Respond to all communication with professionalism, discretion, and a service orientation
Serve as a Fantastic Teammate to Peers on the Staff Team
• Demonstrate loyalty to Ministers and teammates in action and word.

RELATIONSHIPS
Kids Pastor: The Kids Ministry Resident reports directly to the Children’s Pastor. He/she receive Kids
Ministry tasks from the Children’s Pastor and is expected to be coachable, available, and responsive to
him/her while striving for a healthy, Christ-like relationship characterized by love, truth, and unity.
The Heights Staff: The Kids Ministry Resident collaborates with other members of the Kids Team and
The Heights staff, serves as a resource and encouragement to them, and partners with them effectively
to achieve maximum kingdom impact.
Kids Volunteer Team: The Kids Ministry Resident embodies and exhibits servant leadership in all
interactions with volunteer team members, envisioning, equipping, and empowering them to make the
greatest kingdom impact possible.
Children and Parents: The Kids Ministry Resident embodies and exhibits servant leadership in all
interactions with children and parents, seeking to serve, support, and reflect the love of Christ to and for
them.
