Junior Systems Administrator

Greenfield Engineering, a Saalex Company is seeking Junior Systems Administrator in Patuxent River, MD. The ideal candidate will be responsible for configuration, deployment and maintaining Windows servers, Windows 11 desktop systems, Network infrastructure and compliance with information assurance requirements. Candidate will create and maintain virtualized development environments. Candidate will support 200 users / 150 computer assets / printers / network connectivity in the building.

Position Type: Full-Time

Salary: $60k-$75k annually (depending on experience)
Work Location: Full-time onsite (see onsite requirements below)

**On-site Requirements: This position is not eligible for reoccurring telework, and will require an onsite presence at Patuxent River NAS for greater than or equal to 90% of the work week.

Essential Functions:

• Install, configure, and support an organization's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and Internet systems or a segment of a network system.
• Monitor network to ensure network availability to all system users and may perform necessary maintenance to support network availability.
• Monitor and test Web site performance to ensure Web sites operate correctly and without interruption.
• Assist in network modeling, analysis, planning, and coordination between network and data communications hardware and software.
• May supervise computer user support specialists and computer network support specialists.
• Administer network security measures.
• Other duties as assigned or required.

Requirements:
• Ability to obtain Yankee White access clearance.
• Minimum 2 years system administration experience
• CompTIA Security+ certification
• Knowledgeable / proficient in the use of Microsoft operating systems
• Troubleshoot tier 1 support issues
• Ability to manage / maintain various types of servers and security requirements
• Security conscious in all aspects
• Familiar with Azure and virtualization
• Resourceful / problem solving skills

• Organized
• Detail oriented
• BS/BA degree and 3 years related experience, OR AA/AS degree and 5 years related experience, OR HS and 7 years related experience.

Security Clearance:

Active Top Secret required. Requirements to obtain a clearance include US Citizenship, security investigation, etc.

Education:

BS/BA degree and 3 years related experience, OR AA/AS degree and 5 years related experience, OR HS and 7 years related experience.
