Junior System Administrator / End-User Support Specialist
Location: 100 % onsite — Huntsville, AL
Schedule: 40-45 hrs/week (onsite ; remote only for after-hours or family emergencies)
Reports to: IT Director & Director of Operations

About the Role
We’re looking for a high-agency, self-starting problem-solver who loves figuring things out and refuses to quit at “I don’t know.” You’ll keep our users productive, our systems humming, and our documentation sharp—all while sharpening your own skills on the latest tech and AI tools.
Key Responsibilities
End-User Support – Triage and resolve tickets in our help-desk queue; liaise with vendors and reference KB articles as needed.
Windows & M365 Administration – Manage domain-joined workstations/servers, hybrid Microsoft 365 users, GPOs, BitLocker, MFA, roaming profiles, and user-profile disks.
Server & Virtualization – Basic Hyper-V/cluster upkeep; power-up/restart procedures after outages.
Networking Basics – DHCP, DNS, IP addressing, VPN tunnels, OSI-layer troubleshooting, UNIFI UDM devices, wireless channels/security, UNC/SMB shares, logon scripts, file-level permissions.
Hardware & Imaging – Deploy and reimage PCs (Clonezilla, DDRescue, etc.); run memtests, disk diagnostics, ProcMon/ProcExp, etc.
ERP/CRM & SQL – First-line admin and report troubleshooting for our SQL-backed ERP/CRM systems.
Knowledge Base – Write and update clear internal KB articles as you solve problems.
Security & Compliance – Support NIST/ITAR/CMMC controls, door-access systems, centralized print servers/drivers, and general best practices.
Continuous Improvement – Stay on the cutting edge of AI; script, automate, or hack together tools that make everyone’s job easier. If you’ve built software, a SaaS, a website, or a game, we want to see it.
Must-Have Qualifications
Working knowledge of Windows Server & domain administration.
Familiarity with hybrid M365 environments and GPOs.
Basic understanding of virtualization concepts (Hyper-V, clustering).
Comfort with networking fundamentals (OSI, DHCP/DNS, VPN, wireless).
Hands-on experience imaging and deploying hardware.
Strong troubleshooting toolkit (memtest, disk tools, ProcMon/ProcExp, etc.).
Clear written communication for KB articles and ticket notes.
Certifications (CompTIA, MS, etc.) are a plus—but hunger to learn matters more than degrees.
Nice-to-Have / Bonus Points
Exposure to NIST 800-171, ITAR, or CMMC controls.
UNIFI UDM/network gear experience.
Familiarity with CMS or e-commerce platforms.
Scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash) or automation chops.
Experience with BitLocker in domain contexts, roaming profiles, user-profile disks.
Demonstrated personal projects: GitHub repos, websites, SaaS, game mods, etc.
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: $42 k – $52 k
