Junior Software Quality Engineer | Bisection Team

The opportunity
Are you a meticulous, dedicated engineer with a passion for quality craft and efficient processes?

We are looking for an entry-level Software Quality Engineer to join our international Release Quality Assurance group as part of the Bisection Team. The team’s main responsibility is handling source code bisection services to identify code changes that result in specific Unity tooling behavior changes. The team is also responsible for wider quality processes review and improvement which brings plenty of potential for pioneering initiatives that improve current workflows.

In this role you’ll be testing Unity Editor, various device platforms (Windows, MacOS, Android, iOS, etc.) and packages to pinpoint specific code changes. To complete this you will have to leverage various internal tools, which will enable you to deliver an impact across the whole development organization. You will also maintain and improve documentation as well as communicate inside and outside the team to improve quality culture and provide insight on workflows and technical issues encountered along the way. Given that the main priorities are covered, there’s also a possibility to work on data report generation and development, contributing to internal tooling development or leveraging AI tools for key insights.

What you'll be doing

• Investigate and identify issue causing code changes using Git version control and Unity build systems.

• Communicate with colleagues across the group and beyond to keep track and understand outstanding issues as well as cultivate quality culture.

• Share your insights and findings to improve the efficiency, scalability, and stability of our team processes.

• Contribute to our documentation making sure that workflows and processes are clear and up to date.

What we're looking for

• You should be accustomed to and able to engage in open communication inside and outside the immediate group.

• Knowledge of version control systems such as Git.

• Keen eye for noticing the opportunities for improvement, whether it's team processes or wider workflows.

• You should be comfortable working within an international team and need to be proficient in both written and spoken English.

You might also have

• Experience with BigQuery or LookerStudio.

• Hands-on usage of Unity, Unreal or any other 3D engine.

• Experience in building tools using at least one of the programming languages (Python, C#, etc).
