Junior Software Developer

Position Summary: 

As a Junior Software Developer at Akselos, you will contribute to the development of core features, tooling, and automation that power our Structural Performance Management (SPM) platform. Your work will span bug fixing, building robust test suites, and developing specialized scripts and utilities that support model configuration, data processing, and workflow automation. This role offers an excellent opportunity to deepen your software engineering skills while helping deliver advanced, physics-based AI solutions used across the global energy and industrial sectors.

Responsibilities:

Feature Development: Design and implement new features, tools, APIs and components across the Akselos SPM platform, enhancing structural model configuration workflows, data processing, visualization, and overall user experience.

Bug Fixing: Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve software issues to ensure high reliability, accuracy, and performance across the platform.

Automation Test Creation: Write Python scripts for automated tests, including unit tests, end-to-end tests, that help maintain software quality and “green” status for CI/CD pipelines. 

Desired Technical Skills:

Strong ability to write clean Python code, maintainable, and well-structured code using Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)

Familiarity with version control systems (Git, Mercurial), including branching workflows and code review practices.

Experience with Agile development practices (e.g., Scrum, Kanban)

Familiar with using AI tools (Gemini, Github Copilot, etc.) for development

Desired Soft Skills:

Effective communication using English.

Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, especially when working with complex technical workflows.

High aptitude for learning new technologies, tools, and engineering concepts quickly.

Effective team collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with developers, engineers, testers, and domain experts across multiple continents and time zones.

Nice-to-hace skills:

Experience with web development technologies such as React, TypeScript.

Experience with Rust and PyQt/QML development.

Experience with database management systems (SQL) and related data-handling workflows.

Good foundation in mathematics, including linear algebra, matrix computations, and spatial geometry.
