General

We are seeking a well-qualified, enthusiastic, committed and inspirational Early Years/Key Stage 1/Key Stage 2 teacher. Potential candidates should have the necessary educational qualifications, as well as experience working with children within the age range 3-11 years old. A solid understanding of play-based learning is expected, as well as creativity and a child centred approach to learning and teaching.

St. Paul’s was founded in 1926 and was the first school in South America to receive accreditation from the UK government as a British School Oversees. Fully coeducational, with about 1,000 pupils, aged from 3 to 18, it is a school with history and tradition, but which embraces innovation, contemporary values and the latest in digital learning. Your Main responsibilities

• Plan broad and balanced learning experiences, creating and selecting appropriate resources in order to support pupil progress and develop children’s sense of curiosity and wonder about the world;

• Identify and monitor individual strengths, interests and needs, promoting differentiation and adaptations in order to support every child’s full development;

• Ensure pupil progress by making use of formative and summative assessment to inform planning so that pupils are successful in their learning;

• Ensure a safe and effective learning environment is maintained by using the school’s behaviour policy consistently in order to set clear and high expectations of pupil behaviour;

• Promote positive relationships through modelling and collaborating across the school community to ensure a respectful, safe and secure environment for both pupils and colleagues;

• Support children’s language development and communication skills by modelling consistent and proficient use of English in order to provide effective immersion and development of the language;

• Support children’s exploratory experiences and independence by planning activities and enriching education to foster children's curiosity and autonomy;

• Care for pupils’ social, emotional and physical well-being, by creating a safe and positive culture that promotes a growth mindset where children feel comfortable enough to take risks and make mistakes;

• Understand how to recognise and report safeguarding issues following the school safeguarding policy and protocols;

• Collaborate and contribute towards the Junior School vision by participating in staff meetings and year group planning sessions;

• Share resources and best practice with the aim of participating actively in and working well within a team;

• Communicate effectively with parents by establishing a positive partnership, reporting on individual pupil’s progress, well-being and other relevant issues in order to ensure relevant parties are involved, informed and working towards common goals, with pupils' best interests at heart.
