Junior Safety Engineer

Location: Paço de Arcos - Q45, Portugal

We are now looking for recent graduates to join Thales Portugal in our team a Junior Safety Engineer. You will collaborate with the Safety Manager and engineering teams to support safety analyses for complex and safety-critical systems.

Responsibilities:

• Support the development and implementation of Safety Assurance activities across different projects;

• Assist in defining safety requirements, safety plans and contributing to the Safety Programme Plan (SPP);

• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure system and software activities comply with applicable safety standards;

• Participate in safety analyses and contribute to System Safety Assessments;

• Support the preparation of safety deliverables such as Safety Cases and System Safety Assessment Reports (SSAR);

• Help identify, track and communicate risks, including residual risks and operational constraints.

Requirements:

• Degree in Engineering (e.g., Electrical, Software, Systems, Aerospace or similar);

• Basic understanding of system engineering or safety engineering concepts;

• Interest in safety-critical systems and defence environments;

• Good analytical and problem-solving skills;

• Strong communication and teamwork abilities;

• Written and Oral proficiency in English.
