Junior Procurement Manager (Satellite Programs) (all genders)

You will support the procurement of technical components, equipment, and services that enable our satellite programs. Your focus is on executing the procurement cycle: preparing RFQs, structuring supplier responses, creating decision-ready comparisons, and tracking orders through delivery while maintaining the documentation and data that keeps procurement running smoothly.

This is a hands-on operational role working directly with the Technical Procurement Manager. You'll coordinate across Engineering, Supply Chain, and Program Management to align technical requirements with commercial realities, and build supplier relationships that support program success.

Your Mission::
• Support procurement activities for technical satellite components, subsystems, equipment, and services across multiple programs and suppliers.
• Align technical and commercial requirements with internal stakeholders: work with Engineering to clarify specifications, with Program Management on schedules, and with Finance on budgets.
• Prepare and issue Request for Quotations (RFQs) to suppliers: compile technical specifications, commercial terms, delivery requirements, and quality/documentation expectations.
• Collect and structure supplier quotations: ensure completeness, clarify open points with suppliers, normalize formats for comparison.
• Create technical and commercial comparisons to support supplier selection: analyze pricing, lead times, technical compliance, quality/heritage, and risk factors.
• Prepare background data and analyses for procurement decisions and negotiations: cost breakdowns, should-cost estimates, market benchmarks, supplier performance history.
• Support purchase order creation and track orders through delivery: monitor milestones, manage documentation flow (drawings, certifications, test reports), and escalate delays or quality issues.
• Maintain supplier databases, procurement documentation, and standardized templates: keep supplier records current, archive procurement files, and improve tools/templates based on lessons learned.

Your Background::
• Degree or comparable education or equivalent work experience in engineering, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field. Interest in technical products and structured, process-driven work.
• Good communication skills for coordinating with suppliers and internal stakeholders across technical and commercial topics.
• Strong attention to detail in data management, documentation, and process execution (procurement lives and dies by completeness and traceability). 
• Confident working with Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data structuring/analysis) and digital collaboration tools (email, shared drives, project management platforms).
• Ability to structure ambiguous inputs into clear outputs: turn messy supplier quotes into apples-to-apples comparisons people can actually use to make decisions.
• Basic understanding of technical drawings, specifications, or engineering terminology is helpful (or willingness to learn quickly).
• Fluent in English (written and spoken); German is a strong plus for supplier communication and internal coordination.
• Additional languages are beneficial for managing international supplier relationships
