Here’s what we’re looking for:

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Lawyer to join our team. The ideal candidate is ready to contribute to a fast-paced and innovative environment. This key role will support the legal team with various legal tasks, including legal research, drafting legal documents, contract management, compliance, and KYC/KYB assistance, litigation support, due diligence, regulatory support, and administrative tasks.

What you’ll be doing:

Assistance in Legal Research: Conducting research on legal issues, statutes, regulations, and case law relevant to the Game Lounge Group. Analysing legal documents and providing summaries or recommendations to the Head of Legal.

Daily legal support of operational teams and management.

Conduct KYC checks for both B2B and B2C relationships, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards for customer identification and verification. Continuously monitor and update KYC/KYB documentation to maintain accurate and up-to-date records.

Drafting Legal Documents: Drafting contracts, agreements, memoranda, and legal correspondence under the guidance of the head of legal. This includes reviewing and revising documents drafted by others.

Contract Management: Supporting the Legal Team in reviewing, negotiating, and managing contracts with third parties to ensure compliance with legal requirements and organizational policies.

Compliance Assistance: Ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and internal policies for the Game Lounge Group.

Litigation Support Assistance: Assisting in managing litigation matters by conducting legal research to support litigation strategy and coordinating legal proceedings.

Liaise with external law firms/advisors for applicable projects and assistance.

Due Diligence Assistance: Support in due diligence for corporate transactions or other matters whereby due diligence is requested.

Regulatory Matters Assistance: Assisting with regulatory filings, submissions, and communications with government agencies. Keeping informed about regulatory changes and advising on compliance matters.

Other daily tasks assigned by the Legal team, and company management including but not limited to organising documents to be certified, organising apostilled translations, preparing confirmation letters, and other related duties.

Administrative Tasks: Performing administrative duties such as maintaining legal files, managing correspondence, scheduling meetings, and assisting with day-to-day tasks to support the Legal Department.

The ideal candidate should:

Be a fully qualified lawyer, holding a warrant to practise under Maltese Law

Have experience in working in a law firm

Have experience in working with a range of commercial contracts

Possess excellent legal research skills and compliance

Have strong English communication skills, both written and spoken

Demonstrate excellent time management, with the ability to prioritise effectively

Work independently with a proactive and solution-oriented approach

Show enthusiasm for learning and continuous professional development

How you’ll work:

Monday to Friday - 40 hours per week
