Junior Industrial Designer

Role Purpose

LifePro Fitness is building an internal product development capability and is seeking a Junior Industrial Designer to support the design and development of connected consumer fitness products.

This role supports the end-to-end development of consumer hardware products, from early industrial design concepts and CAD modeling through prototyping, manufacturing collaboration, and product launch.

The position also helps coordinate communication with external app development partners to ensure that connected hardware products integrate smoothly with digital experiences.

The role requires strong CAD and surface modeling skills, understanding of plastic manufacturing and injection molding, and the ability to collaborate with China-based manufacturing partners during product development and tooling phases.

Who You Are

Highly attentive to detail and capable of maintaining accuracy and quality when working with a large volume of images

Comfortable working with both advanced image editing techniques and AI-powered creative tools

You have a deep understanding of DTC and omnichannel operations

Positive mindset and ability to maintain a friendly, supportive team atmosphere

Open to feedback and able to quickly iterate based on team input

Experienced in e-commerce, digital marketing, or product-focused visual content creation

Familiar with best practices in graphic design, typography, etc. and can fill gaps in this area when bandwidth permits or as needed.

What You’ll Do

Responsibilities:

Support industrial design development for consumer electronics and connected fitness products

Develop and maintain high-quality CAD models and surface geometry for new product concepts and design revisions

Translate design ideas into production-ready CAD models, assemblies, and technical drawings

Assist in developing product form language, ergonomics, and visual consistency across LifePro products

Create design visualizations and renderings for internal product reviews

Support design-for-manufacturing (DFM) considerations during product development

Assist with prototype development and product iteration from early concepts through production-ready builds

Success Metrics

Deliver accurate CAD models and design revisions on schedule

Support successful tooling and prototype development for new product launches

Improve consistency of LifePro’s visual and functional product design language

Maintain clear coordination and task progress with external app development teams

Reduce misalignment between hardware features and app experience requirements

Support smooth communication with overseas suppliers and manufacturing partners

Tools & Systems

CAD software (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Rhino, or similar)

Prototyping tools (3D printing, mockups, functional prototype workflows)

Project tracking tools (Trello, Notion, Monday, or similar)

Slack / Email for remote communication

Collaboration tools with overseas suppliers

Accountability & Rhythm

Daily

Coordinate updates and communication with external app development firm

Track active design tasks and product iteration progress

Weekly

Sync with leadership on product development priorities and prototype progress

Review manufacturer feedback and production constraints

Monthly

Support milestone planning for new product concepts and upcoming launches

Coordinate updates between hardware design, manufacturing, and app development teams

Assist with documentation for product development progress

Quarterly

Assist in launch preparation for next-generation connected fitness products

Hours: Standard hours (e.g., 9 AM – 5 PM EST)
