Job Overview
We are seeking a Junior Geologist with knowledge in remote sensing to join our Geospatial Technologies department at Xcalibur MPH Spain, based in Madrid. The successful candidate will support projects related to natural resources, mining, energy transportation, and the environment, working with satellite imagery and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). The role requires willingness to grow within the global organisation, contributing to specialised international projects.
Key Responsabilities
Assist in the preparation of geoscience projects, including cartography and mapping tasks.
Perform remote sensing process analysis using vector and raster tools.
Support the interpretation and management of satellite imagery and remote sensing data.
Respond to internal and external client requests related to geology/remote sensing products, services, and technical support.
Contribute to knowledge development and innovation within the Geospatial Technologies department.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across international offices.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Environmental Sciences, or related fields.
Knowledge of GIS software (ArcGIS/QGIS) and digital cartography techniques.
Basic understanding of remote sensing, with willingness to deepen expertise in methodologies and tools.
Experience with remote sensing software (e.g., SNAP, ERDAS, ENVI) is a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
High level of English (mandatory); additional languages will be valued.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work in a team-oriented and multicultural environment.
