About Eyebot
Eyebot is an outcome-focused technology company on a mission to make vision care accessible to everyone, equally. Headquartered in Boston’s North End and Charlestown neighborhoods and backed by top investors and the National Science Foundation, our vision test kiosk is reshaping how vision care is delivered.
If you are passionate about solving big problems and building the future of vision care, we would love to hear from you.
About the Role
We're looking for a Junior Electrical Engineer to support new product development and design verification across our kiosk platform. You'll work hands-on alongside the engineering team, contributing to PCB design and testing as well as the fixtures and tooling that support it. This is a generalist role with a lot of variety. You could be a good fit if you like building things, debugging problems, and seeing your work make it into a real product.
What You’ll Do:
• Design, prototype, and test new PCBs that power features in the Eyebot kiosk, from schematic through fabrication and testing
• Contribute to electrical design reviews and help validate existing designs against requirements
• Build and deploy test fixtures used in development and manufacturing
• Support hands-on prototyping with test equipment like oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers,
• Work closely with mechanical, software, and manufacturing teammates on integrated system challenges
• Document design decisions, test procedures, and results clearly and consistently
This is a full-time, onsite role based in Boston’s North End and Charlestown neighborhoods. The Charlestown office is the primary workplace for this role. We work together five days a week to support rapid prototyping and cross-functional collaboration.
What We’re Looking For:
Required Qualifications
• 1-3 years of post-bachelor's experience in electrical engineering or a closely related field
• Hands-on experience with PCB design, including layout and schematic capture (KiCad preferred)
• Proficiency in Python and C/C++ for embedded systems
• Experience with SMT soldering and hands-on electrical debugging
• Comfort with DMMs, oscilloscopes and other electrical test equipment
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working with PCB contract manufacturers
• Familiarity with 3D mechanical CAD software
• Exposure to medical device development or regulated product environments
• Strong documentation habits, including the ability to clearly record design decisions, test results, and procedures
• Comfort with prototyping tools including 3D printers and laser cutters
Who You Are:
• You are energized by fast-paced environments and excited to grow with a startup that is scaling quickly.
• You take ownership of your work and care deeply about quality.
• You hold yourself and your teammates to a high bar.
• You follow through on commitments and take responsibility for outcomes.
• You bring a low ego, collaborative mindset. You are easy to work with, open to feedback, and able to keep perspective even when things don't go according to plan.
What We Offer:
• Compensation: $80,000–$100,000 base salary, commensurate with experience
• Meaningful equity - you're building this with us and should share in what we create
• Flexible work schedule with unlimited PTO - we care about the work you do, not the hours you log
• Health, dental, and vision insurance
• Employer-sponsored 401(k)
• Commuter support and wellness benefits - including tools like Calm and Cariloop to help you perform at your best
• A culture where all ideas are welcome, no matter how out there — that's how Eyebot started, and it's how we keep moving forward
• Collaborative offices in Boston's North End (with a waterfront view) and Charlestown neighborhoods, with regular team lunches
• The opportunity to build products that improve lives and reshape how vision care is delivered.
