Your Role as a Junior Electrical Designer
Reporting to the Supervisor of Electrical Engineering Services, you will work under the guidance and supervision of senior designers and engineers, assisting with drafting basic designs, conducting supervised site visits, and supporting project coordination. You will works closely with internal teams to document work, maintain technical records, and ensure adherence to industry standards. They assist in executing project tasks, reporting progress, and managing time commitments across multiple projects.
Your Key Accountabilities
Technical and Documentation
Draft basic designs and technical drawings with guidance from senior designers and engineers.
Perform basic calculations, such as load and voltage drop calculations, under supervision.
Conduct site visits under supervision for data collection and assessment.
Follow industry standards and codes as instructed.
Support QAQC checks as directed.
Document work and maintain basic technical records.
Business Development and Client Management
Assist in preparing and presenting drawings with guidance.
Participate in client meetings to gather technical requirements under supervision.
Manage time commitments between projects
Communicate primarily with internal teams, with limited externa interaction.
Project Coordination and Management
Assist with executing project tasks as directed.
Report time on projects accurately
Help coordinate with internal teams, to ensure project progress.
Contribute to progress reports, meeting minutes, other project documentation and administrative support as needed.
Assist in project progress and reporting issues.
Professional Development
Participate in training and certification programs.
Attend relevant industry workshops and seminars.
Seek feedback and guidance from senior designers and engineers.
Engage in learning opportunities to develop technical and professional skills.
Qualifications
A diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or a related field is required.
0 to 2 years of relevant experience is required.
Working towards Certified Engineering Technician (CET) Certification is considered a strong asset.
Knowledge of industry codes and regulations is desirable.
Familiarity with drafting and design software tools (e.g. AutoCAD, MicroStation).
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suites applications.
Strong analytical skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high quality work.
Strong commitment to safety, quality, and sustainable design practices.
Valid Drivers License.
Working Conditions
Work is primarily performed in a regular office environment.
Travel to client sites is required on occasion to attend meetings and to conduct field visits.

Total Compensation
The salary range for this position is $60,000 to $ 70,000 CAD per annum, based on the responsibilities of the role, internal equity, and current market benchmarks. The final offer will be determined by a combination of factors, including the candidate’s skills, experience, and qualifications; their placement within our internal compensation structure; and relevant geographic cost of living considerations, where applicable. This range represents a realistic and good faith estimate of the compensation we expect to offer for this role.
