We're looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Junior Demand Planner to join our team in Melbourne, Australia. In this role, you will support the demand planning function by analyzing market trends, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and contributing to accurate demand forecasts. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your expertise in supply chain planning while working with experienced professionals in a dynamic organization.
• Analyze historical sales data and market trends to support demand forecasting and planning activities
• Collect, organize, and validate data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Assist in developing and updating demand forecasts using established methodologies and tools
• Monitor inventory levels and identify opportunities to optimize stock positioning
• Collaborate with sales, marketing, and operations teams to align demand plans with business objectives
• Generate regular reports and dashboards to track demand planning metrics and performance indicators
• Support the identification and implementation of process improvements within the demand planning function
• Maintain and update demand planning systems and databases with current information
• Participate in monthly and quarterly business reviews to present findings and recommendations
• Respond to ad-hoc requests for data analysis and reporting from stakeholders
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions and data analysis capabilities
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets
• Solid understanding of demand planning principles, forecasting methods, and inventory management concepts
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration across teams
• Effective time management and ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
• 1-3 years of experience in supply chain, operations, planning, or related business functions (or equivalent)
• Experience with demand forecasting, inventory planning, or sales operations is preferred
• Familiarity with ERP systems (such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms) is a plus
• Knowledge of statistical analysis or forecasting software is desirable
• Demonstrated ability to learn new systems and tools quickly
