Junior Data Scientist (1 year contract, Renewable)

The position focused on leveraging GenAI and advanced data analysis to support operational decision-making and business innovation. The successful candidate will work within the Digital & Innovation department to develop scalable AI solutions and frameworks that enhance site operations across Asia.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

AI & GenAI Solution Development

• Develop GenAI decision-making tools designed to support site operations and operational data analysis.
• Design AI solutions for analyzing operational data, including applying correlation evaluations and training forecasting models.
• Build optimization decision-making tools specifically for tabular data.
• Execute full-cycle data preparation and data analysis to support tool accuracy.

 

Stakeholder Engagement & Strategic Frameworks

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to collect requirements and assess data availability at various sites.

• Develop a standardized feasibility framework to evaluate and launch new AI projects.

• Map and understand workflows within the group segments and operational departments to ensure technical alignment.

 

Productization, Documentation, and Support

• Productize AI tools to ensure easier implementation and deployment across other plants or sites.

• Manage comprehensive reporting, technical documentation, and the final handover of implemented projects.

• Assist the team with ad-hoc missions which may include visits to local offices across Asia.

• Education: Master’s degree in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, or a related field.

• Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Technical Skills: Familiarity with Python, cloud technology (GCP), time-series forecasting, GenAI frameworks, and data preparation techniques.

• Analytical Thinking: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in assessing complex operational data.

• Adaptability: Willingness to learn about Veolia’s diverse businesses and adapt to various operational workflows.

• Driver: A strong interest in digital innovation and the application of AI to industrial and environmental operations.
